Nicholas Dix and JoAnn Copp at the School Board Meeting 09-13-16
Dear Colleagues, As reported in our last negotiations update, N-MFT's bargaining team rejected what the District presented to us as their Last, Best, and Final offer on June 16, 2015. Since then, N-MFT leadership has addressed the School Board twice regarding our concerns with the District's Last, Best, and Final offer.

We have come to a critical point in Negotiations. Your voices have been heard! Thank you to those that have sent letters and emails stating your positions on the Districts proposals. The Team has represented all unit members through the proposals we have made to the District. The Team has yet to receive counter-proposals to most of the proposals that were presented, and have yet to receive any proposals we fully agree with. We continue the fight for a salary increase, an increased District contribution to medical benefits, and K-3 preparation time equity.
This joint letter from the presidents of both of our organizations - Newport-Mesa Federation of Teachers AFT 1794 and Newport-Mesa Federation of Teachers Retired - is to reaffirm our commitment towards solidarity and mutual aid regarding health benefit offerings for 2015-1016.
